My Journey

My first time on skies was on a holiday with my parents in a skiarea called Funäsdalen. I don´t remember much of it but I´m told that I loved it right away and I still do! :)

I joined a skischool when I became a little bit older and when I was 9 I started competing for Bergsjö-Hassela Alpina, my present skiclub. I have a lot of great memories from that time, all the training sessions with my friends and the competitions. My parents drove me and my brother around almost every weekend, mostly around Sweden but sometimes we went to greater competitions which was a lot of fun. I also played hockey and football during this time and it was kind of hard to get it all together, but my parents did and I´m very grateful. When I got older I started competing on a national level and I won my first national championship when I was 15. It was also at that age I chose to give the other sports up to focus on my skiing. It was an easy choice in the end. I went to Järpens high school whereI lived and trained for 4 years. This was an instructive time for me and I developed a lot as a skier as well as personally. Belive it or not but I do have some university experience too, I took a few courses at the skiuniversity in Östersund but I didn´t manage to finish the entire education, it was not my cup of tea. I might go back to school after my career as a skier but right now I have no time. After Östersund I moved to a place called Martigny in the Valais area, Switzerland where I lived for a few years but I never got on so well there and decided to move down to Monaco and allthough it´s not as close to the alps I really like it there. When you spend most of your time on snow it´s nice with a bit of heat and sun for a change. My first podium in the World Cup was in Schladming  and the first win in Beaver Creek. I have competed in 2 Olympic Games and I´ve been 4th and 3rd. Missed the medal in Turin with 0.03 sec and won the medal in Vancouver with 0,04 sec!! This is a crazy sport! I´ve skied on Nordica since I joined the junior team in Sweden and I think that´s quite unique in this sport, but I guess it says a little bit of who I am too.  One of my big goals is to win the SL Cup and maybe it will be this year, who knows!?
