Finaly I´m here in the olympic village. The trip went well and I got
all my bags with me. It was dark when I arrived but it seems like the
village is pretty big and it´s a lot of security. My coach Marko
showed me the way to the food tent and I ate some pizza for supper and
yes they have Mcdonalds in there to...
A lot of other houses with what seemed to be an arcade hall, internet
cafe, "vitamin bar", a gym and much more. It will be fun to explore
the area tomorrow. I´ll take some photos!
But first I will take a late morning and have a nice breakfast.
Nothing is on the agenda so I´ll just relax and enjoy my first day
here in the village.
Gibson Les Paul GOLDtop!!! 18/2
Another day in Park City is drawing to a close. I´m sitting in my bed
and I just packed my bags together because I´m leaving tomorrow after
our training.
It´s been a good day. In the morning we skied some SL, I did 3 really
good and fast runs and then I went back in. It´s more quality then
quantity at this point.
I went down to SLC and I picked up my guitar, I hooked it up
immediately when I got back home and it sounds amazing! that´s how a
guitar should sound :) Isn´t it beautiful??!!! Now I´ve got a sweet
set of guitars to choose from!
Done some easy biking to get all that lactate away form my legs and
this evening Jens and Mattias made some homemade burgers for us and it
tasted very nice..
I´m excited to fly over to Whistler, will be fun to move into the
olympic village, feel the olympic spirit...
I also want to say congrats to Anja who took the bronze medal in the
ladies super combined, very impressive Anja!!
2 Podiums today 17/2
It´s been a good day for me with a 2nd place in the first competition
and a win in the second.
In the first competition I had a big mistake in the first and I had
1,80 up to Hargin who was leading after a very fast run. I did a good
2nd run and managed to make up 1,50 but it wasn´t enough to take the
win. Good skiing though!
After a short lunch we went out for the 2nd competition. I was at 2nd
place after the first but after a solid 2nd run I managed to take the
win. The course where in pretty bad shape so it was hard to ski but I
did good and I´m very happy with todays performance.
Pretty tired though so this afternoon I´ve been taking it easy, got
some massage from Ulf our physio and I took a long bath in our jetted
tub to regenerate those heavy legs. Life is hard...
Tomorrow we´ll do some SL training and me and Mattias will go down to
Salt Lake in the afternoon. I´ll pick up the guitar and Mattias want
to buy some new camera gear.
Now it´s time for bed but before I sleep I´ll watch an episode with
"How I met your Mother".
2nd place in todays GS 16/2
Two solid runs was enough for a podium today, but no points, the
winner TIm Jitloff was to fast in the 2nd run. Anyway it´s always good
with a podium, good for my self confidence. Was a nice day, the sun
was shining and conditions where ok. Met my old buddy John Buchar
who´s living here in Park City nowadays at the slope, that was fun,
haven´t seen him in years.
After skiing we went to the gym for some easy training, I feel a litle
tired after the last weeks of hard training and now it´s time to ease
up the physical training to get the boost for next week.
Tomorrow it´s 2 SL races so it will be a busy day, I´ll try some skies
and I have nr 14 in the 1st race and 4 in the 2nd. Will be fun!!
I just got a confirmation that my Les Paul has arrived down at Guitar
Center in Salt Lake, tomorrow will be tough but on Thursday I´ll go
down and get it, I´m super excited!

Out in the GS, bags Arrived!!
We woke up this morning and our bags had come so we where able to
race. I didn´t do that great though, big mistake in the first with nr
3 and then in the 2nd I went out. The snow was a little special,
pretty hard but with soft spots here and there and it was tough to get
a good feeling.
This afternoon we went down to a big training center where we did some
biking and core workout.
Tomorrow I have nr 9, another race with new posibilities!
Park City, Happy Valentines Day!! 14/2
So I´ve arrived in Park City for our pre camp. Haven´t got all of our
gear yet though and tomorrow I´ll suppose to race a FIS GS here in
Park City. Hopefully the skies and the rest of the bags will come
tonight but it doesn´t look that good. We´ll see, nothing to do about
it. Apart from the luggage incident the trip went well, we are living
in appartments near the slope and they are really nice.
Today we went down to Salt Lake City and did some shopping. I actually
found two guitars at Guitar Center in Salt Lake that I bought. One
Gibson Les Paul -56 Goldtop VOS and one Fender American vintage
Telecaster -52 reissue in butterscotch blonde. I´m very pleased with
my purchase and super excited!! I just have the tele with me back from
the store because the Les Paul had to be shipped so it will come later
this week so I´ll go down again to SLC and get it. I´ll put out some
pictures later!!
If I´ll get some skies I´ll start with nr 3 tomorrow, some good guys
here so it can be a good race.
Now it´s time for bed, at least here in USA, I guess "GMT+1" just
woke up...have a nice day!!
Update!! 11/2
Hi again!!
My site has been down for a while. A lot of rules of what you can and
can´t do during the olympic period. They are very strictly with
commercial and stuff so that´s why I the banner on the right is down.
So this is what I´ve been up to the last week:
After Kranjska Gora I went to Sweden and I´ve been doing a lot of
physical training to get in shape for the olympics. Last Sunday I flew
down to Oberjoch and then I´ve done two days of skiing. Went well and
I feel I´m in good shape. The GS is also starting to work better, I
haven´t done that much GS in January because I wanted to focus on the
SL so if I take that in consideration it´s ok!
Today I raced an GS EC here in Oberjoch, not the best result but I
feel I´m on the right way, with some more training days over in Park
City, USA I think I´ll be ready to take on the GS hill in Whistler,
actually I have nothing to loose at all...
Tomorrow I´ll do a SL EC in the same slope, I have nr 24 so it´s a lot
of racers here, it will be a good race. I´ll try my old ski which I
used last year, I have a little more grip with this ski and I haven´t
used it that much this season but I want to try it once in a race to
have a backup plan in Whistler if it´s getting really icy.
After the race we pack our stuff together and go to Munich. We fly out
on Saturday at lunchtime and we´re landing in Salt Lake City Saturday
evening local time and go by car directely by car up to Park City,
it´s like 45 min drive.
First day will be off so I´ll hope I can go down to SLC again and pay
a visit to "Guitar Center". I think it´s about time my Fender Strat
get´s a little buddy to hang with, maybe a "Les Paul" or "Tele", we´ll
see!
