Didn´t do that well today, I think everything is all right with me,
feels like all my parts is in the right place. If someone needs to
know how the nets is like in Beaver Creek just give me a call. I´ve
seen it from up close...
Crash Boom Bang 3/12
I paid a visit to the net of "Birds of Prey" today at our second
training run. I straddled a gate in the begining of the steep part of
the course. Nothing happend though, I feel fine and I´m looking
forward to the race tomorrow.
I´ve got nr 27, we start at 11.00.
Snow over night, shorter DH training 2/12
Due to a lot of snow they had to postpone the start until 13.30 and
also move it down to the GS start. The conditions are amazing and if
they just get the snow out until tomorrow we´ll start from the top in
the last training run.
I made a solid run today and tomorrow I´ll try to push a little more,
nice to get a feeling from the slope first though, I´ll take it step
by step. It´s a pretty aggressive snow and I think I´ll go with a less
aggressive boot tomorrow and see if I can get the skis to run a little
smoother. The jumps are long but nice and it´s pretty fast.
Tonight we where invited by Järbyn to his house for some pizza, didn´t
play any poker though like we normaly do, but it was a lot of fun.
Fredrik Jacobson, the golfer, was there. He´s a friend of Patrik and
he was here for some vacation before he starts playing at the PGA tour
again in January. We talked a lot of golf and he seemed to be a very
nice guy.
Now it time for bed, inspection tomorrow starts at 09.00. I need to
find a better line, will try to sleep on it! Good night, or good
morning maybee in Europe..!
Nr 83 in first training run 1/12
I haven´t done that much today, a lot of relaxing. Watched "the whole
ten yards" on the TV and if you think we have a lot of commercial at
home, USA is winning that competition. Amazing, I don´t understand how
they can take it, I would go crazy, like every 10 minutes...!
Tomorrow I´ll have nr 83, our coaches have been up at the hill and it
looks perfect, not so icy but very hard and compact. We´ll see on
Friday if I´ll start in the top 30, I´m 32nd on the SC WC start list
at the moment and I know at least one that won´t ski so hopefully I
will, but we´ll see. Doesn´t mather, I´ll take it either way.
The pictures are taken outside our hotel, "St James Place", christmas
is in the air :) They sure know how to decorate.
SG and GS in Copper Mt 30/11
This morning I had my alarm set to 04.50!! If I wasn´t jet laged I
probably never would have gone up that time. Now it was no problem and
we went to Copper for some early SG before they opened the lift for
the public. It was freezing outside but we managed to do 4 good runs.
It was a nice hill, not too step and I had a good feeling. I feel that
I´m ready to take on the "Birds of Pray" on Wednedsday.
The GS was also good. The snow is different and it´s really aggresive,
but I think I can handle it and it feels like I have the right setup
for it.
Tomorrow I´ll take a day off, maybe do some easy physical training.
I´ll certainly have a nice lie-in, but who knows, I might wake up
04.50 again and be wide-awake.
Good SL day, arrived in Beaver 29/11
Had a good day in Loveland, did 4 runs and it felt good. Pretty tired
though, it´s a very high altitude and it costs energy.
We checked in at our hotel here in Beaver Creek, same place like the
last years. We have a big apartment where all of us racers live,
really nice, very american :)
Tomorrow we´ll go up very early and go to Cooper Mountain for some SG
in the morning, then we´ll do a couple of GS runs before we go back to
Beaver.
Now I´ll go for some massage and then I´ll head for bed.
Confessions of a Shopaholic 28/11
Woke up early this morning, not tired at all. But I stayed in bed,
checked out the internet and talked to my girl on skype. After that I
went down for some breakfast.
Me and Matte took the car to a shopping mall not too far away from
where we are staying called Cherry Creek, met Ulf and Jonas who was
there already and did some shopping. Then we picked up Mackan at the
hotel and drove a little further out of town to a big outlet where we
first had lunch and then we visited Golf Smith! I bought some balls,
gloves and tees for next golf season. Afterwards me and Ulf went
downtown to a music store called Wedgel, because I wanted to look if
could find a nice guitar, but I didn´t find one so we gave up and went
back to the hotel.
Just came back from dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, you know the
restaurant Forrest and Bubba open in the "Forest Gump" movie. We had
some really nice seafood. I thought that they been around for a long
time, before the movie, but they actually open 2 years after. It was a
very cool design inside and a lot of stuff from the movie, I liked it!
Tomorrow we head uo to Loveland for some SL training, then Beaver Creek!
Good job Patrik and Hans in the DH today in Lake Louise!!!! 7th and
10th place!!! Two swedes top 10 in DH, that´s not every day, congrats
guys!
Denver 27/11
We´ve arrived safe and sound in Denver after a long trip. Our stop in
Washington where a little longer then planed, halfway out the runway
the pilot stops the take-off due to some problems and they had to stop
and fix it. But now we are here and I´m very tired, haven´t slept that
much on the plane so now I´m going to bed!
When we arrived at Hyatt hotel here in Denver my favourite car stood
in the parking lot, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 or if you
wish...Eleanor :) Not the -67 model but still!!!! It´s beautiful!
